We’re proud to launch MWEC’s Promote Her Journey campaign by celebrating an inspiring entrepreneur whose creativity, leadership, and purpose-driven storytelling embody the spirit of this initiative.
Meet Margaux Towne, founder of Moxie Film and Video, a woman-owned production company based in Omaha, Nebraska.
Margaux launched Moxie with a clear vision: to build a production company led by a woman and rooted in community. “I believed Omaha deserved a woman-owned production company—and that the community would support it,” she says. That belief became the foundation for a thriving business that has brought stories to life for a wide range of clients, from global icons like Bill Murray, Warren Buffett, and Alex Rodriguez to nonprofits driving local impact.
Like many entrepreneurs, Margaux’s early days were marked by a desire to do it all. “I tried to do almost everything myself—both to ensure high quality and to keep expenses down,” Towne recalls. But true growth required a mindset shift: “I quickly realized that in order to grow, I needed to delegate and trust others with important tasks.” This shift created the collaborative culture that is now core to Moxie’s identity.
Today, Moxie Film and Video is known for excellence in storytelling. The team has garnered major accolades, including an Emmy nomination, and continues to take on high-profile projects that demand both creativity and care. Yet, for Margaux, the heart of the work lies in its mission-driven focus. “I’m especially proud of recently leading an all-woman camera crew. But above all, what matters most is telling the important stories—making a real impact through our work for clients and the community.”
That impact is felt most deeply through Moxie’s longstanding partnerships with nonprofits. “We collaborate with organizations to help them tell their stories, and it’s impossible not to become personally invested in their missions,” she explains. “When these organizations succeed—especially when they reach fundraising goals—it’s incredibly rewarding to know that our work helped them expand their reach and do even more good.”
Margaux also offers thoughtful advice to fellow women entrepreneurs: “It’s about more than just doing your best—it’s about giving your best with an open and willing heart.” She believes that empathetic leadership, grounded in openness, care, and authenticity, can elevate not just the quality of the work but also the strength of relationships, trust, and long-term impact.
Her journey is best summed up in one joyful declaration: “It’s great to love what you do.”
We couldn’t imagine a more fitting first feature for Promote Her Journey. Margaux’s story is a powerful reminder of what’s possible when passion, purpose, and a bit of moxie come together.
